House Manager

Marlin Private Staff are seeking a House Manager to assist in a Private Family Home based in South London. The ideal candidate needs to have worked in Private residences for a minimum of three years’ previously. This role would someone looking to step up into a House Managerial role having already gained some experience as a supervisor, etc.

Duties:

  • Oversee the running of the household and its staff
  • Implement and update staff handbooks on cleaning standards, the use of ‘smart’ equipment and family preferences, etc
  • Liaise with the family to ensure the house is stocked with their requests – grocery provisioning, toiletries, personal shopping, etc
  • Hands-on management style, pitch in whenever needed across multiple areas
  • Arrange building maintenance – quotes, security checks and supervision of contractors, etc
  • Run errands for the property and family
  • Personal diary management – arrange trips, book days outs, restaurants, etc
  • Sort through mail and any deliveries

Skills and Experience:

  • Must have worked in a private household before in a junior management role and ready to move up in responsibility
  • Need to be able to manage small teams in a firm but fair manner
  • Able to diversify and reprioritise workloads
  • Driver’s license to use the family car
  • Friendly, approachable, relaxed and understanding
  • Keen eye for detail

The position would someone whom lives in the South of London already to lessen the commute and someone who is comfortable working 5 days a week 8 – 6 (potentially longer with guests/events). Ultimately the family are looking for someone whom can fit into their household and family dynamic with ease.
